A constitutional petition was filed in Lahore High Court with the plea that the real motives behind the October 12, 1999 military coup against the Nawaz Sharif government be brought before the nation and the characters should be exposed.
The petition has been file by Rana Ilmuddin Advocate, contending that Pervez Musharraf and his associates by staging the coup committed violation of Article 6 of the Constitution.
He also accused Pervez Musharraf of subversion of the Constitution for the second time on November 3, 2007 besides concealing facts from the nation and selling out vital national interests to America. He prayed to the Court to bring to limelight the factors which motivated October 12 action so that nation could be apprised of the ways dictators have been playing with nation.
