President Pakistan Muslim League-Q Punjab Choudhry Pervez Elahi has said people of the country need to be united in order to get rid of the present government and taking the country on right direction. The PML-Q leadership and its workers were united and dreams of some political forces to see PML-Q split had shattered, he said.
Addressing a big Workers Convention here on Tuesday afternoon he alleged that both Punjab and federal governments were busy in hoodwinking the people through hollow slogans because they had no agenda for the welfare of the masses. The Punjab government had totally failed in controlling price hike as a result suicide incidents were increasing day by day in the Punjab.
Elahi further said that loans and ailments were the gift of Punjab government and the provincial government was being run on Stay Order. He said that it was very strange that how Punjab becomes indebted of Rs 200 billion resultantly the cheques issued by government were being dishonoured adding that they had left cash amount of Rs 74 billion. The provincial president PML-Q alleged that ratio of crime has increased to 50 percent which indicates the deteriorating law and order situation. Elahi said that Charter of Democracy was signed by both parties just to deceive the masses in election. He alleged that Punjab chief minister misused Rs 30 billion on "Sasti Roti" scheme, which was totally useless.
There are 42 colleges, which are without teaching staff but Punjab chief minister was talking about the establishment of Danish schools in the Punjab, he alleged. Elahi said that PML-Q during its tenure worked for the betterment of the common man and record development projects completed in the Punjab. The PML-Q leader revealed that development projects, which were inaugurated during PML-Q regime were being inaugurated by the Punjab chief and federal ministers in the country. Speaking on the occasion former Speaker National Assembly Choudary Amir Hussain said the people were remembering the PML-Q regime due to price hike and unavailability of items of daily use.
