Federal Law Minister, Dr Babar Awan paid rich tributes to Allama Iqbal for his thought provoking poetry and philosophy, which gave courage to the Muslims to fight for their rights. The minister has urged the people to act upon the vision of Allama Muhammed Iqbal in order to attain national solidarity and stability.
He was addressing a seminar on the 133rd birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal organised by Markazzia Majlis-e-Iqbal on Tuesday. He said the ideas of the Poet of the East were in line with the parliamentary democracy and he was not against concepts of the state and the constitution.
The minister also stressed upon the politicians, intellectuals and representatives from all segments of the society to make collective efforts to resolve all outstanding national issues. He was of the view that every member of society must rise beyond the differences of opinion and think about his/her contribution towards the development of this homeland.
"We should think not to gain something from the country but to serve it with the best of our capabilities", he observed. A0wan said that he could never support any idea or writings, which would be against the sovereignty, security and stability of Pakistan.
