At least eight people were killed by unknown armed persons in different violent incidents across the city on Wednesday. As per detail, Lyari Gang War (LGW) has entered into new phase and four people have so far been lost their precious lives in ongoing shot out between to groups. Besides, four more people including an activist of Muttaheda Qaumi Movement (MQM) were killed in different violent incidents in the city.
Officials in Superintendent of Police (SP) Lyari Town told Business Recorder that four people were killed in fresh wave of violence in Lyari and above 15 people were abducted by unknown armed persons. Tension prevailed in the area and incidents of intermittent firing were reported from every street of town, they said.
They said three bodies found from Kalakot police station area. The victims were identified as 25-year-old Jamil Baloch son of Abdul Ghani and 24-year-old Zakir Baloch son of Ishaq Baloch. They were kidnapped and shot dead by unidentified culprits. Both victims belong to notorious criminal Noor Mohammad alias Baba Ladla group, they said.
After getting information, the unidentified persons in Baba Ladla group gathered in Afshani Street and open indiscriminate firing. Resultantly Fawad alias Billa Baloch died on the spot, while one other Shabbir Baloch sustained to injures, they said. Another body of Mulla Nisar group identified as Naeem alias Bomb blast has been recovered. The victim was kidnapped and gunned down by armed men.
Besides, four people including MQM activist and former activist of people student federation (PSF) were killed in separate incidents. The first incident took place in Qasba Colony near Madina Hotel where the activist of PSF namely 30-year-old Khurram Niazi son Qamar Niazi was killed by unknown pillion riders.
DSP Majeed Abbas said victim was the resident of Metrovil Site and labourer and former activist of PSF.
Similarly, 45-year-old Ahsan Ullah alias Shani son of Abdul Majeed was shot dead near Peerabad No 2, when he was standing outside his house. DSP Majeed Abbas said the victim was wanted to police in many cases. In another incident, an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was gunned down in the limits of Al-Falah police station. Police said unidentified armed men opened fire on a 45-year-old man Afzal Majeed son of Ahmed Ali near Millat Town Mor. He received three bullets in his chest and died on the spot.
Separately, a man was shot dead in the incident of target killing near Four Stars Marriage Hall within the limits of Khawaja Ajmair Nagri police station. The victim identified as 40-year-old Abdul Malik son of Fazal Mehboob.
