The Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the US-India collusion was a serious threat to Pakistan's solidarity and US and Nato's withdrawal from the region alone could safeguard the interests of this country. While addressing the concluding session of the two-day JI Media Secretaries workshop at Mansoora here on Wednesday, he said US President Obama's visit to India had proved that India was US real partner.
He said the deeper Washington's roots in the region, the greater would be the dangers for this country. He deplored that Pakistan Foreign Office had made no planning to offset the damage expected of Obama's India visit and said Islamabad had failed to counter the criticism against this country during the visit.
He said that the US was now assigning an important role to India in Afghanistan although in the past, India never had any role in that country. On the contrary, the Afghans had always handed down defeat to the Hindus, he said. JI chief stressed upon the government to review its policy towards the US, which he said, had always played fraud with country and sides with our enemies. He proposed that Islamabad should join hands with its friendly countries like China and Iran to check India's advance and also for ousting the US from the region.
He stressed upon the participants to realise the media's role in the present era and play their effective role in keeping the people informed of the international and the country's situation thus enabling them take correct decisions. The JI chief also condemned the torture on the media personnel in the city during the day and said that the champions of democracy were in the forefront in placing curbs on the media. Senior working journalists and media experts apprised the participants of the modern media techniques besides training them on professional lines during the two-day workshop.
