UK always welcomes genuine students for genuine education and there is no hindrance in getting student visa for genuine students, said Robert W. Gibson, British Deputy High Commissioner and Director Trade & Investment in Pakistan, while addressing the students and faculty members at the University of Faisalabad.
He further said that Pakistani students could play a key role in making Pakistan's image better in the UK and other European countries. Gibson visited the University of Faisalabad (Amin Campus, Canal Road), where he inaugurated the new Telecommunication Lab at the Department of Electrical Engineering.
Addressing the students and faculty members in Mukhtar Auditorium of TUF, he said that besides the bilateral trade relations, UK has also strong educational links with Pakistan. Every year more than 10,000 Pakistani students go to UK for higher education. Amongst the top three universities of the world, two are located in UK. More than 10,400 educational institutes are imparting quality education in UK and attract the students from all over the world. He visited different departments, labs, and library of the university and appreciated the state-of-the-art infrastructure and quality education being imparted at the university.
