Procter and Gamble (P&G) Port Qasim Plant in collaboration with Health Education Literacy Programme (Help), an NGO, established its first school in the Port Qasim vicinity. The school is aimed at providing pre-primary education to underprivileged children of the local community of Ghaggar Phattak who have limited access to educational opportunities.
The inauguration of the P&G-Help School was performed by Mir Afsar Din Talpur, Director General Planning & Development, Port Qasim Authority (PQA), amongst presence of senior P&G management and Help officials. The inauguration of the school received warm welcome from the residents who have registered and admitted their children in the hope to provide them with basic education. The school at present caters to students from the pre-primary section and has a total strength of 100 children.
Addressing the guests at the occasion, Sherif Gomaa, P&G-Port Qasim Plant Manager said: "P&G prides itself in being a socially responsible company which focuses on improving lives wherever it operates. Our first P&G-Help School in the area will provide education to the underprivileged and also create job opportunities.-PR
