Sindh Police on Wednesday seized 180 bags of sugar, which were stolen from Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) godowns in Pipri at National Highway, it is learnt. According to details, TCP officials has identified and confirmed that the sugar bags were stolen from TCP godowns in Pipri. Officials in Saudabad police station told Business Recorder that a truck No JY-6644 was stopped for checking.
During checking police recovered 180 bags of sugar, they added. They said that police took the stolen commodity into its custody and arrested three persons from the spot. During initial investigations, it emerged that the sugar was stolen from TCP godowns in Pipri, but the arrested people did not disclose the location where they were assigned to offload the stolen sugar, they said.
The arrested persons were identified as Zakirullah Khan son of Baqi Khan, Jahanzaib Khan son of Khasta Khan and driver Sarfraz Khan son of Momin Khan. The Saudabad police handed over the arrested people and seized sugar bags to Bin Qasim police to lodge an FIR and initiate investigation of the incidents.
Officials in Bin Qasim police station told Business Recorder that a case no. 290/10 under section 457, 380/34 of Pakistan Panel Code (PPC) has been lodged against three identified persons and their unknown companions on complaint on Sher Muhammad, Deputy Project Manager, TCP, and investigation has been started. They said TCP officials confirmed that the seized sugar was stolen from one of the TCP godowns near Pipri Ground in the jurisdiction of Bin Qasim police station.
