The Karachi Electric Supply Company has received notes of appreciation from associations of the city's industrial zones for the utility's untiring endeavours to keep the wheels of industry moving.
The messages have been sent to KESC by Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, Site Association of Industry, North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry, F B Area Association of Trade and Industry, Landhi Association of Trade and Industry, Site Super Highway Association of Industry, and, Pakistan Tanners Association.
In their messages, the associations expressed thankfulness to KESC for supporting the industry through its friendly policy of supplying uninterrupted power to the industry of Karachi for over a year now. "The KESC's prudence has enabled us to keep the economic engine of the country going, and fuelled employment creation, leading to socio-economic development and stability in the business and industrial hub of Pakistan," the message said.
The associations pointed out that the recent incident of forced 12-hour loadshedding in the industrial zones of Karachi, because of drastic shortfall in gas supply, has highlighted the need to ensure adequate supply of natural gas to KESC's generating units. While appreciating that KESC did well to finish loadshedding in industrial areas as its top priority in the shortest possible time, the message said that uninterrupted supply of electricity to industry has already been restored as before and the wheels of industry are moving again on non-stop basis. The associations also supported KESC's efforts to keep power tariffs down and pledged to be trusted partners in this endeavour.
The trade and industrial associations said that they shared the vision to make Karachi "the City of Lights" again, "where we flourish individually and collectively and play our part in making our city the torchbearer of growth and prosperity in Pakistan.-PR
