A spokesman of Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited (JJVL), one of Pakistan's largest LPG producers, on Monday said that prices of Pakistan-made liquefied petroleum gas have not been increased and all media reports in this regard are not based on facts.
No increase of Rs 8 per kilogram in LPG price has been made and producer prices have remained unchanged since the last revision was made on November 3, the spokesman of JJVL said, adding: "Prices are revised on a monthly basis in compliance with Pakistan's LPG Policy." "We strongly refute and reject false and mischievous claims to the contrary which are being made to damage the reputation of investors and mislead the public."
According to spokesman, inclusive of federal excise duty and general sales tax, JJVL's current ex-plant price for November is Rs 72,639 per metric ton. It was Rs 60,939 per metric ton in October. The ex-plant price notified by state-owned Parco and the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited for the current month is Rs 79,425 per metric ton.
The spokesman said: "JJVL's producer price is lower than the prices notified by state-owned LPG producers. "JJVL took this decision in order to ensure the availability of affordable LPG throughout the country," he said.
