Islamic Relief (IR) has stepped up rehabilitation process for flood survivors countrywide. It is indiscriminately feeding more than 10 thousand flood-affected families in Thatta district alone. So far, IR has distributed aid worth 1.5 million dollars among the survivors.
Country Director of IR, Fazlullah Walmot has vowed continuation of relief and rescue activities until complete rehabilitation of the calamity-hit people. Talking to media on the occasion of visiting tehsil Jaati of district Thatha to review aid activities and distribute ration, he said IR would gradually broaden network of relief activities like it did in most parts of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhunkhwa provinces, bringing all flood-hit towns and districts under its rehabilitation process. "We are trying to speed up rehab activities so that life in the affected areas should come back to normalcy soon", he remarked.
IR has been nurturing more than 10 thousand flood-affected families. It has been distributing flour, oil, rice, sugar, pulses, spices, dry milk and other goods as well as tents, dinner sets, ration, hygiene kits and constructed toilets in tehsil Jaati. Also, it has installed filtration plants to ensure availability of clean drinking water in different localities of the tehsil. These plants are functioning 24 hours a day, benefiting thousands of families.-PR
