An official of the US Consulate General in Karachi on Tuesday distributed toys among the children admitted at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Karachi. A statement said that Sarah Alam, Cultural Affairs Specialist at the Consulate, distributed 'Beanie Babies' to the children in the wards of the NICH in conjunction with the Pak-US Alumni Network Karachi.
It said that the president of the Network, Fauzia Siddiqui, was also present on the occasion. The toys, the statement added, are a symbol of American partnership with Pakistan, were given to celebrate Eid. The children, coming to Karachi for health care from remote areas of Sindh and Balochistan, received the toys with wide smiles on their faces. It was further pointed out that Beanie Babies are sent to Pakistan to further mutual understanding between the people of the US and Pakistan.
