Taiwan stocks rose 0.87 percent on Tuesday, with big tech names including TSMC leading a rebound from a three-week closing low the previous session amid hopes of more foreign fund inflows to the island. Taiwan's benchmark TAIEX share index closed up 71.56 points at 8,312.21. Top contract chipmaker TSMC jumped 0.94 percent and smartphone maker HTC Corp rose 2.31 percent, lifting the electronics sub-index 0.77 percent. The financial sub-index gained 0.33 percent.
