The Federal Board of Revenue has approved the cadre strength of both Inland Revenue Service (IRS) and Pakistan Customs Service (PCS). The IRS will have 1104 officials (BS-17 to 21) while PCS 379 officials (BS-17 to 22).
According to an FBR notification of November 16, 2010, consequent upon the issuance of Establishment Division OM, the competent authority has approved the cadre strength of the IRS and PCS under the administrative control of FBR with immediate effect and until further orders. The FBR has also issued the seniority lists of officials covered under the cadre strength of Inland Revenue Service and Pakistan Customs Service.
Break-up of the cadre strength of the IRS revealed that 44 officials of BS-21 Grade are covered under the cadre strength of the IRS; BS-20 92 officials; BS-19 216 officials; BS-18 374 officials and 378 officials of BS-17 Grade are covered under the cadre strength of the IRS.
Within the cadre strength of the PCS, 19 officials of Grade-21 opt to work under the PCS; 31 officials of Grade-20; 81 officials of Grade-19; 147 officials of Grade-18 and 101 officials of Grade-17 opt for PCS.
Through another notification, the FBR said the provisional seniority list of officers of Inland Revenue Service of BS-17 to Bs-21. The FBR said consequent upon the issuance of Establishment Division OM and in light of FBR Notification No 2408-M-IA/2010 dated November 15, 2010, the provisional seniority list of officers (of newly created Inland Revenue Service) in BPS-17 to BPS-21 is hereby circulated for information. Objections to the aforementioned provisional seniority lists, if any, may be filed within 15 days from the date of issuance of this letter, the FBR added.
According to another notification, consequent upon the issuance of Establishment Division OM No 6/2/2009-CP-II and after completion of exercise of obtaining options and with the approval of competent authority, the following officers of defunct Customs & Excise Group are appointed by transfer, to Pakistan Customs Service with immediate effect, in terms of Civil Servants (Appointment, Promotion and Transfer) Rules, 1973.
The notification said that a senior most tax official of Customs and Excise Group, Mahmood Alam of BS-22 Grade, has opted for Pakistan Customs Service. The top officials of Customs and Excise Group (BS-21), who opted for Pakistan Customs Service, are Mumtaz Haider Rizvi, Shahid Rahim Sheikh, Muhammad Anees, Umar Farooq, Razia Sultana Taher, Sher Nawaz, Musarrat Jabeen, Shahid Bashir, Munir Qureshi, Humayun Khan Sikandri, Javed Kazi, Aftab Anwar Bloch and Amir Muhammad Khan Marwat.
The notification further said that 31 officials of BS-21 Grade are covered under the cadre strength of the IRS. The top officials are Ihsanul Haq, Khawar Khurshid Butt, Masood Ali Jamshed, Muhammad Faiyaz Khan, Qurban Ali, Shahid Azam Khan, Khawaja Shaukat Ali, Asraf Raouf, Afzal Naubahar Kayani, Raana Mirza, Sardar Aminullah Khan, Muhammad Saeed Khan, Shahnaz Rafique, Khalid Aziz Banth, Abdul Rauf, Aziz Ahmad Bilour, Tabana Sajjad Naseer, Amjad Ikran Ali, Malik Abdul Samad, Ansar Javed, Muhammad Aqil Usman, Shahid Nasim, Imtiaz Ahmad Barakzai, Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Yasmin Saud, Muhammad Anwar Goraya, Riffat Shaheen Qazi, Abrar Ahmad Khan, Shahid Hussain Asad, Syed Ijaz Hussain and Mustafa Ashraf Tabassum.
