All Pakistan Contractors Association (APCA), a representative trade association of Pakistan's construction industry, with the co-operation of Asian Development Bank (ADB), is holding a two-day seminar on 'Business Opportunities Seminar' in the provincial metropolis on December 08 and 09, 2010.
According to the APCA sources the seminar is directed at consultants (firms and individuals), contractors and suppliers who are interested in projects financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The Seminar will provide the participants an ideal opportunity for familiarising themselves with the procurement process of ADB.
The participants, consultants, contractors, suppliers and representatives of procurement agencies of Federal and Provincial Governments, will also be able to network with their national and international counterparts. The goal of the seminar is to prepare Pakistani companies for increased participation in ADB funded projects.
Chairman All Pakistan Contractors Association (APCA) Sikandar Hayat Khattak, President Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Shahzad Ali Malik and Hamid Sharif, Principal Director, COSO, ADB are expected to speak on this occasion.
Papers would be presented on various topics including procurement of consulting services, procurement of goods and civil works, analysis of construction industry, public procurement regulatory environment and various others. Second day of the seminar would be reserved for one-on-one meeting with the ADB representatives, APCA sources added.
