Skipper Sana Mir, four players and the management of the gold medal winning Pakistan women cricket team was accorded a warm welcome on their arrival from Asiad in China here on Sunday. They were showered with roses by chairperson PCB Women's Wing, Bushra Aizaz, their families and hundreds of their fans.
The welcoming crowd chanted slogans of Pakistan Zindabad when skipper Sana Mir along with Nida Rashid, Bisma Maroof and Marina Iqbal came out of the Allama Iqbal International Airport arrival lounge.
Talking to newsmen at the airport , Sana said that preparation of her team was outstanding and if India were in the contest they would also have defeated them. "The Pakistani women are not inferior to women of any other country if they were provided proper facilities, they could compete in the international sport's events.
Bushra Aizaz, chairperson PCB Women's Wing was very happy at the moment. She criticised the government for not rewarding the team on its great achievement.
