A meeting of social, political and trade union organisations was held at HRCP office here to discuss the forthcoming caravan of peace activists of Asia-Gaza Solidarity Caravan from India on its way to Gaza that arrives in Karachi on December 8, 2010. The participants endorsed the declaration of the Asia-Gaza campaign and declared to support the initiative aimed to draw attention towards the Gaza population besieged by Israel.
The participants decided to form the Asia-Gaza Solidarity Caravan (Sindh Chapter).
The caravan from India will be given a warm welcome when it enters Karachi and a public meeting will be organised at the Karachi Press Club. The Caravan Sindh Chapter asked the progressive, secular and peace loving people of Karachi to participate and demonstrate their solidarity with the Palestinian people through this historical initiative.
The meeting was attended by Railway Workers Union, Pakistan Trade Union Federation, Home Based Workers Federation, All Pakistan Trade Union Federation, International Socialists Pakistan, Port Workers Federation, Pakistan Mazdoor Mahaz, Peoples Unity PIA, Pukhtoon Fikri Jirga, HRCP, Jeay Sindh Mahaz, Pakistan Press Foundation/Peoples Resistance, Peoples Workers Union KESC, Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research and Peoples Labour Bureau.-PR
