Pakistan International Foundation (PIF) and U Care Foundation (UK) in collaboration with Glasgow Central Mosque has supplied 10,000 food parcels including kitchen utensils, medicine of worth 5 million British pounds through World Health Organisation (WHO) and Government of Punjab, said the first Muslim Member of British Parliament and Chairman (PIF) Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar.
He said this while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday. Vice President Glasgow Central Mosque, Ghulam Rabbani, Chairman Pakistan Forum Scotland Hanif Raja, Director (PIF) Syed Sajjad Haider and Member of U Care Foundation Mian Navid were also present.
Sarwar said that PIF had sacrificed over 700 animals for flood victims on Eid-ul-Azha and was also building homes for the flood-affected people of Muzaffargarh, Kashmore, Charsada and Neelum Valley. He further stated PIF has completed schools of 5 classrooms with chairs/desks, free uniforms and books in Garibabad, Muzaffargarh.
The foundation has also provided 200 cartons of medicine and cloths worth 2 million British Pound which includes blanket, children clothes, ladies clothes, shoes and warm clothes for winters to the flood affected people of flood inundated areas of Pakistan, he said.
He further briefed about the activities of the foundation Hospital in Ranjana and Chichawatni. Seven patients of dengue were treated at Rajana as no facilities were provided at DHQ Hospital in Ranjana. These foundation hospitals are working day and night for the welfare of the people of these remote districts, he added. Sarwar said that all the members from British community were fully committed to help the flood victims in Pakistan but the rehabilitation could not be possible without the participation of our own elite.
