Deputy Inspector General of Police Islamabad Kamal-ud-Din Tipu has said that the officials of Islamabad Police suffering from Hepatitis B or C would be provided free medical treatment.
"Islamabad Police will make all-out efforts to help its personnel recover from the disease," Tipu said while addressing the `Free Hepatitis Screening Camp' arranged by Islamabad Police on Wednesday at Aabpara Police Station with the support of Islamabad City Lions Club.
The officials of Islamabad police have been given facility for free Hepatitis screening at the camp and those suffering from Hepatitis would be given free treatment in co-operation with the organisers of the club. The DIG and 150 officials of Islamabad Police gave blood for screening.
The DIG said police officials who were suffering from hepatitis would be provided free treatment through welfare fund, adding that Islamabad Traffic Police had been given the facility of Health Insurance, which would be announced for the remaining force very soon.
Under the health insurance cover, the officials of Islamabad police, their spouses and children would be able to get better as well as free medical treatment. The DIG said that ratio of ill officials is comparatively low in Islamabad police and the force is determined to protect the lives and property of the citizens through remaining alert and vigilant.
