Punjab has all the infrastructure to attend the needs of foreign investment and Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) is providing technical support and assistance to foreign investors for initiating new projects in province, said CEO, PBIT Saadat Muzaffar.
He was talking to a 9-member delegation of Japanese agriculturists who visited PBIT office here on Wednesday. The delegation was headed by Yasuhiro Nakagawa, Vice-Chairman JA Japan, and President Kyoto Prefecture union of Agriculture Co-operatives. Saadat Muzaffar, while briefing the members of the delegation in length said that PBIT was playing a proactive role in liaison with foreign investment companies and apprising them with key information about investment opportunities in Punjab.
He also highlighted various sectors, mutually beneficial to both countries including agriculture and livestock trade. He further said that in order to boost investment and trade in the province PBIT was providing one window facility to the local as well as foreign investors. Leader of the delegation, Yasuhiro Nakagawa disclosed that Japan was presently importing garlic and ginger from China, however, keeping in view the good quality and standard of Pakistani products, Japan would prefer to import these two items from Pakistan.
The members of the delegation showed keen interest in farming techniques/methods, dairy farms, quality of soil and product range. On this occasion, various investment projects were also introduced to the delegation. The members of the delegation included: Yasurio Nakagawa, Isao Iijima, Hiroyoshi Togawa, Yasutoshi Hosomi, Makio Yasuhara, Masaaki Otuski, Jean-Francois Minear, Hirokuni Nakagawa and Shishido.
