Veteran journalist and teacher Akhtar Adil Razvi passed away here on Friday after a protracted illness. He was about 88, family sources said. The late Razvi began his journalistic career in the early 50s with a local English-language daily in Karachi.
In 1953, he joined Dawn as an Assistant Editor and remained associated with it till 1973 when he moved to the Pakistan Economist as its chief editor. The late journalist was also a visiting faculty at Karachi University's Department of Journalism, which was later renamed as the Department of Mass Communication. He left the field of journalism in the 90s because of ill health.
