Members of national and provincial assemblies, belonging to various districts of Punjab province, met Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Chief Minister's Secretariat, on Tuesday, and informed him about development work and problems of people in their respective areas.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said Punjab government has adopted a comprehensive strategy to eradicate poverty and ignorance and promote economic and trade activities in the province.
He said all resources are being utilised for provision of education, health and other basic facilities to the masses and Punjab government is paying special attention to the promotion of vocational education and equipping youths with modern knowledge.
Shahbaz said Danish schools' project is being implemented expeditiously for provision of latest educational facilities to the students of remote and backward areas and these will be inaugurated next month in Bahawalpur division. He further said livestock sector has a key importance in the economy of a country. He added that national economy could be improved by promoting livestock sector, which will also help eliminate unemployment.
The chief minister directed the elected representatives to ensure timely completion of development projects in their respective areas and leave no stone unturned in resolving people's problems. Those who met the chief minister included Ayaz Amir, Afzal Khokhar, Mumtaz Tuman, Chaudhry Bilal Virk, Umar Sohail Zia Butt, Mian Nauman Ahmad and Chaudhry Shahbaz. American Consul General, Carmella Conroy also called on the chief minister at Chief Minister's Secretariat and discussed co-operation prospects in various sectors.
