While rejecting Wikileakes revelation that Saudi King described President Asif Ali Zardari as the biggest hurdle to Pakistan's progress, Governor Punjab Salman Tarseer on Tuesday said that the report was based on closed door meetings, hence it carries no weight.
He once again lambasted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief, Nawaz Sharif, saying during his two tenures as Prime Minister instead of making the county Asian Tiger he himself became a 'tiger.' Talking to media person here after attending the 10th Convocation of Fatima Jinnah Women University, Salman Taseer said, "Nawaz Sharif is frequently talking about making the country as 'Asian Tiger' but tell us what he had done during his two-tenure," he added.
To a query, he said that all corruption cases against Nawaz Sharif were genuine, as sitting Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry was also among those 10 judges who gave verdict against Nawaz Sharif. To a query about Asia Bibi's case, he said that he was not accountable to clerics instead Allah Almighty.
Earlier, he distributed gold and silver medals among 54 students of Faima Jinnah Women University for getting top positions in their respective departments. On the occasion, 1077 students were awarded graduate and master degrees. Federal Education Minister Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali and Vice Chancellor, FJWU, Professor Dr Saeeda Asadullah Khan were also present on the occasion.
