16 participants of 10th Mid Career Management Course (MCMC), representing various occupational groups, visited Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) at Karachi on Tuesday, 30th November, 2010. Chairman TCP welcomed the participants and briefed them about the on-going business activities of TCP and its future plans.
A detailed presentation was also made about TCP's role in the national economy, particularly in improving supply line of essential commodities, providing relief to common man at affordable prices and to overcome the shortage of essential commodities.
The visiting officers were informed that TCP is the trading arm of the government and acts only on specific directions/decisions of the Economic Co-ordination Committee of cabinet/government, and has recently posted profit of Rs 1.632 billions after tax for the last financial year. The participants were also informed that TCP is fully PPRA-rules complaint and has been endeavouring to maintain complete transparency in all its procurements.
The participants took keen interest in the functioning of the organisation and appreciated the efforts made by the management in implementing government directives. Divisional heads and other concerned Officers of TCP also attended the briefing.-PR
