Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU )has awarded scholarships worth Rs 58 million during 2009-10 to more than three thousand students under 23 different scholarship programmes. This was stated by QAU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Masoom Yasinzai while addressing the MSc Merit Scholarship distribution ceremony held here on Monday.
The ceremony was organised by Scholarship Aid Office of QAU to distribute Merit Scholarships. QAU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Masoom Yasinzai awarded scholarship cheques worth Rs 2 million to 175 hardworking and brilliant students.
Addressing the audience Vice Chancellor said that University administration is working very hard to get resources and find different way for helping students so that they could achieve their goal of higher education. He congratulated the scholarship recipients and appreciated their efforts.
He said all three pillars faculty, students and administration must work together to bring about the change, which is the need of the hour. He said the motive of QAU is to elevate the socio-economic position of the needy & deserving students by providing them access to quality education through needs/merit based scholarships.
