Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has always supported Article 295-C (blasphemy law) in the Constitution and also voiced for efforts to avoid its misuse. PTI Vice President Ejaz Chaudhry expressed these views while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday. He was accompanied by PTI Secretary Information Omar Sarfaraz Cheema. Ejaz Chaudhry said protection of Namoos-e-Risalat was mandatory on all Muslims.
While criticising the Punjab Governor, he said he was giving irresponsible statements on the issue of blasphemy and the PTI didn't support any of it. He said it was obligatory on Muslims to protect the rights of minorities in a Muslim society and PTI would also continue to strive for their just rights. However, he said, Article 295-C should stay as the part of the Constitution. He also urged the ulemas, scholars, parliamentarians and members of minorities to work together to find a solution so that no innocent person is implicated under this law.
