Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday conferred Hilal-e-Pakistan Award on Ms Emine Erdogan, wife of the Turkish Prime Minister in recognition of her personal efforts for the flood stricken people of Pakistan. Prime Minister Gilani conferred the award on Ms Emine Erdogan on behalf of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, during the banquet hosted in his honour by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan here.
Begum Erdogan visited Pakistan and the flood hit areas in October this year to personally witness the devastation caused by the floods and contributed significantly in the fund-raising campaign to help the country's flood victims.
