Shehbaz Sharif asks Indian counterpart to tackle smog together
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently wrote a letter to Chief Minister of Indian Punjab Captain (retd) Amarinder Singh, inviting him to tackle the smog situation prevailing in the two cities, Lahore and New Delhi.
The letter, which was written on November 19, was tweeted by the Pakistan's Government of Punjab on Tuesday, in which Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was tagged. In the letter, Sharif said that the persistent and growing problem of smog were impacting the health of the people.

Media adviser of Singh Raveen Thukral, who was also tagged in the tweet, responded to the tweet by saying, “Amarinder Singh is extremely concerned about the issue and is actively pursuing it with the Indian government. He expects early resolution of the matter. He is, however, yet to receive the letter from Shehbaz Sharif and will reply to it at a suitable time,” The Indian Express reported.
Since October, residents on both sides of the border have been suffering due to smog. Like last year, Lahore and Delhi were engulfed in heavy smog which brought life in the two cities to a standstill and caused various accidents due to poor visibility.
