Germany is ranked seventh globally in its appeal to information technology companies, according to figures on December 7 released at government-sponsored IT summit in Dresden. South Korea topped the survey by pollsters TNS Infratest, bumping the US down to second place. Germany was awarded 59 percent of the maximum score, placing it behind Sweden and Britain.
The country needed to do more to support research projects and counter skills shortages in the IT sector, the economics ministry concluded, after commissioning the study.
