The Punjab Industrial Estate Management and Development Company (PIE) has issued following press release to clarify its position regarding a news published in Business Recorder. There has been no raid by any department in Sundar Industrial Estate (SIE). The news published in Business Recorder dated 12-12-2010 is thus baseless and fabricated.
A spokesman of SIE, while clarifying the position explained that so called Sundar Industrial Estate Owner Front (SIEOF) is a non entity. Sami Ullah Durrani and Usman were defaulters and their plots have been cancelled. In retaliation they are indulging in such rumour mongering to pressurise the Management. In this context, they had lodged some baseless complaints to different departments. Anti-Corruption department is one of them. He further said that over 95 percent of allottees of Sundar Industrial Estate were completing their projects in a cordial and harmonious manner.
The spokesman reminded that during past few months Chief Minister Punjab had twice visited Sundar Industrial Estate and expressed complete satisfaction over the efforts made by the management. It was reiterated that all efforts will continue to help genuine industrialist. However no leniency will be shown to speculators and land mafia".
However, our reporter stands by the story, saying that the Deputy Director Anti-Corruption Establishment (Investigation) Nasir Jamil Khan had issued summons to the Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company Chairman S M Tanvir and Chief Executive Officer Tariq Javed on November 11, 2010. Both the officials were directed to appear before him on November 23, 2010 in connection with a case/inquiry No 729/10-L, a copy of which is available with the Business Recorder.
Talking to this scribe about the factual position of the inquiry, the Deputy Director Anti-Corruption Nasir Jamil Khan confirmed that he had visited the PIE office in connection with the investigation of the allegations levelled against the PIE management. He further said that PIE has to submit its technical report to the Anti-Corruption Establishment.-PR
