An Islamabad police constable was killed and six others injured in a road mishap near Zia Masjid at Islamabad Highway on early Tuesday. The ill-fated constable Muhammad Arshad s/o Nasrullah Khan, who left home for duty at the Cabinet Division, met the tragedy after being hit by a Lahore to Rawalpindi-bound coach, bearing registration No LHC-255 while crossing the highway.
The vehicle also turned turtle, resulting in minor injuries to six passengers - Muhammad Shafiq s/o Qasim, Muhammad Ali s/o Yaqub, Abdul Majeed s/o Muhammad Khalil, Sher Sajid s/o Khan Muhammad, Mrs Rehman wife of Abdur Rehman and Muhammad Ahsan s/o Amir Ali. The injured were rushed to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.
