Professor Muneer Ahmad Rashid, who is currently serving as an HEC Foreign Faculty Professor at the National University of Sciences & Technology's Center for Advanced Mathematics and Physics, has been awarded the prestigious Pakistan Academy of Sciences Gold Medal in the field of Mathematics for year 2010 for his outstanding work in Mathematical Physics.
Professor Muneer is a well-known Pakistani mathematician who has worked in numerous branches of mathematics. He is the author of more than 100 research papers and has collaborated with many scientists. His former doctoral student, Dr Saleem Asghar is also a renowned mathematician and a fellow of Pakistan Academy of Sciences. Currently, Professor Muneer is actively engaged in research with colleagues Mubasher Jamil, Faiz Ahmad and Asghar Qadir and supervising another PhD student, Umar Farooq. -PR
