Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan Business and Investment Conference held in Dubai, with the joint collaboration of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade and Dubai Chambers of Commerce, will yield positive results and cement economic relations between United Arab Emirates and Pakistan, especially Punjab.
He was talking to media men on his return from a three-day visit to Dubai at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Tuesday. Member National Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif was also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said there are vast opportunities of investment in different sectors in Punjab and the investors at Dubai Conference showed extraordinary interest in this regard. He also said memorandums of understanding have also been signed in energy, infrastructure, poultry, agriculture and other sectors. These agreements will promote investment in Pakistan as well as Punjab besides creation of job opportunities, he added.
He said during his meetings with the royal family of UAE and business personalities, matters regarding launching of joint ventures and the products, which are in much demand in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, were discussed in detail. In response to a question about Nawaz Sharif Social Security Hospital, the Chief Minister said an inquiry committee has been set up in this regard.
