Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP) kept silent and did not give clear comments on quitting JUI-F as a coalition partner. When contacted, PPP Information Secretary Fauzia Wahab avoided any clear-cut statement on the recent political developments. She said that she did not want to comment on the announcement of JUI-F, quitting PPP-Government.
Spokesperson of the ANP Senator Zahid Khan also avoided to make any statement and said that it is internal matter of the coalition government. He said that government should take all the coalition partners into confidence for passage of Reform General Sales Tax (RGST) Bill. "Without taking coalition partners into confidence, the government would not be in a position to get RGST Bill through, said Zahid Khan while talking to Business Recorder here on Tuesday.
He opined that unless the government meets all the demands tabled by the ANP, his party would not support the government on RGST Bill. He said that RGST Bill is still in the committee and ANP member Bushra Gaohar is giving her party's stance on the matter. Government should do proper homework before putting up RGST Bill in the Lower House for passage as the prevailing situation is not suitable, he added.
