Sindh Assembly introduces Sindh livestock authority bill
KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly Wednesday introduced the Sindh Livestock Registration and Trade Authority Bill 2017.
The bill was moved by Sindh Minister for Food and Parliamentary Affairs Nisar Ahmed Khuhro.
The session, earlier, started with recitation of Holy Quran and Naat Sharif with Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in the chair.
During the questions and answers session, Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister on Women Development Irum Khalid, on the floor of the house, replying to a question said that the funds allocated by the government for women crisis centres for the financial year 2016-17 for Karachi were Rs24,369000, Hyderabad Rs24,422000, Shaheed Benazirabad Rs24,323000 and Jacobabad Rs24,267000.
Replying to another question, she said that under the ADP schemes "Establishment of Sales and Display Resources Centre" district resources committees were constituted to identify arts and crafts of the district and register the skilled women of the area with sales and display resources centre.
Adding that the district resource committees were established in 2008-09.
Answering a question, Irum said that the GRAP stands for Gender Reform Action Plan. This programme was started with an objective to create a society where women have equal rights and can progress with men and have equal opportunities so that there may not be any discrimination with anyone on the basis of gender.
To another question said that at present no working women hostel exist in Mirpurkhas. Efforts are underway for establishing the same in phases all over Sindh.
Adding that women complaint cell is functional and working in Mirpurkhas.
She, replying to another question on recruitments, said that no recruitments had been made in the women development during 2016-17.
