On the directive of Minister for Industries & Production Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, the Ministry has prepared a comprehensive proposal to offer China for investment in its State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) like Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC).
The SOEs included Heavy Electrical Complex (HEC) at Taxila, Pakistan Machine Tool Factory (PMTF) Karachi, Pakistan Engineering Company (PECO) Lahore and Tools, Dies and Moulds Centers (TDMC) at Gujranwala, said a press release issued here Thursday.
A nine member delegation of the Ministry, comprising Muhammad Ashraf Butt MD HMC, Aurangzeb Haq MD HEC, Suhail Ahmed CEO TUSDEC, Waseem Tahir GM TUSDEC, Colonel Sabahuddin (Retd) GM PECO, Khalid Mahmood GM PMTF, Syed Ashraf Javed Director TDMC and M. Farooq Khan GM BOB, headed by Tariq Shall Chak Additional Secretary Ministry of Industries & Production (MgT&P) would offer investment to the Chines State Owned Enterprises and Private Sector Companies to become partner under mutually agreed equity basis of the above mentioned Pakistan''s live SOEs according to their share of investment and support for transfer of technology etc.
The Ministry delegation would present proposal in B2B meetings during the Pak-China Co-operation Business Forum scheduled to be held on Saturday December, 18 for investment in different industrial sectors like Steel.
Wind Turbine Manufacturing, Development of Agriculture Implements/Machinery, Automobile Sector, Electronics and Domestic Appliances. Small Tractors Scheme* Manufacturing of Generator step-up transformers rating 220 KV & 132 and high module power transformers of rating 160/250 MVA, 220 KVA, Manufacturing of CNC Machine Tools, Upgradation and Modernisation of HMC Taxila. Any scheme evolved as equity partner/joint owner or above mentioned Pakistan''s SOEs.
This can be materialised as soon as possible through negotiation between Mol&F of Pakistan and its counterpart of People''s Republic of China, as a strong infrastructure in Pakistan''s SOEs is already available and ready for an immediate take off. Another proposal for co-operation between National Production Organisation (NPO) and Chines Association of Productivity Sciences (CAPS) has also been prepared and recommended for Pak-China joint effort to plan and guide entrepreneur for enhanced industrial productivity of Pakistan industry.
MoI&P offers the Government of China and its private sector companies to get its SOEs through any form of investment like, Support the projects as donors, Undertake these scheme as joint venture. Become co-sharer/partners and Evolve future schemes & plans. This can be after expansion and modernisation of these SOEs. Other than above a partnership of Pakistan Steel Mills can also be discussed.
