Handle recordable CDs with care. Recordable CDs are more fragile than the pre-recorded kind you buy from the store. The sensitive layer upon which data or music files are stored can be easily scratched or dirtied. You should not only store your CDs in protective layers but inspect the recording layer periodically, gently wiping off dust or dirt. Any lint-free cloth moistened with water will help you perform this task.
