Commodities, wholesale markets underwent lean trading, as Muharram holidays restricted retailers to indulge in normal activity, fluctuation if any too was just a few. On Monday not many variations were marked on the commodity wholesale markets.
However, til low type showed no change as it was put at Rs 3800, while the other type lost Rs 100 to Rs 4100. Gur low type conceded Rs 200 to Rs 6800, while the other type shed Rs 100 to Rs 7500. Cotton cakes with bag managed to rise by Rs 35 to Rs 1235, while better quality was up Rs 50 to Rs 1250.
On Jodia Bazaar chemical items (per kg) caustic soda flakes Saudi ended higher by Rs 5 to Rs 45, sodium sulphate closed down by 50 paisa to Rs 15.50, N.J. Taiwan quoted at Rs 233, formic acid Pak scaled down by Re 1 to Rs 99, formic acid from Germany ended lower by Re 1 to Rs 103. Oxalic acid, China rose by Rs 3 to Rs 67, while citric acid from China gained Rs 6 to Rs 115.
On Tuesday sharp rise was marked in grams prices - gram Australia scaled higher by Rs 100 to Rs 5200, while the other variety was quoted at Rs 5400. Gram Dal Australia registered at Rs 6300, while the other quality was seen at Rs 6500. Gram 50 x 50 low quality gained Rs 100 to Rs 5700, while the better type was up by Rs 150 to Rs 5950, bajra inferior type was unchanged at Rs 2550, while the other quality was marked higher at Rs 3000. Barley Sindh and Mardan was quoted at Rs 2550, cottonseed cakes Sindh with bag inferior shed Rs 50 to Rs 1230, while better type was down Rs 10 to Rs 1240. Bangladesh tea was said to have fallen against Kenyan tea reported earlier was higher.
On Wednesday, that is ahead of holidays, commodity markets reported no change on the wholesale markets. On Saturday not a single change was seen on the wholesales grain and seed market, as market was closed for unknown reason.
