MEXICO CITY: Mexico's national oil company Pemex said on Wednesday it was helping to extinguish a gas-related fire close to its refinery in the state of Tamaulipas, but that the accident did not present any risk to its operations.
The fire occurred at a private gas distributor about 1,640 feet (500 meters) from its Francisco I. Madero refinery, a Pemex spokesman said, following a separate fire at the same site the day before.
"They are still controlling the fire. Yesterday there was another fire that Pemex helped to control at the same site," the spokesman said.
