Vice-Chancellor Punjab University, Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran called on Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry in his office on Monday and congratulated him on his appointment as Chief Justice of Lahore High Court. He was accompanied by Dean Punjab University, Faculty of Law, Professor Dr Muhammad Ehsan Malik, In Charge Principal Punjab University Law College, Samee Ozair and other senior staff and teachers.
During the meeting Dr Kamran briefed the chief justice about the ongoing academic and research activities as well as infrastructure development being made at the university campus. He said that currently over 30 thousand male and female including foreign students were studying at the Punjab University which was popularly known as poor man's university because students belonging to low income families from all over the country sought admission at the university.
The percentage of female students was presently 63 percent of the total students, he added. Speaking on the occasion, Justice Chaudhry expressed hope that the Punjab University administration and faculty members would leave no stone unturned in providing peaceful and educational friendly atmosphere to the students. He added, "There is no dearth of talent in the country. Teachers should impart latest knowledge and skills to the country's youth."
