A US widow is suing Bank of America for wrongly seizing her home and throwing away her husband's ashes, the New York Times reported Wednesday. Mimi Ash reportedly returned to her California mountain chalet to find it devoid of furniture and missing a wooden box containing the ashes of her late husband, Robert.
The box had been inscribed with the words "Together Forever." According to the paper, keepsakes, including her son's sports medals, were also taken as the bank seized the property. Ash has since filed a law suit against the bank. The report, based on court documents, is just the latest embarrassing revelation to hit US banks, who have been accused of mistakenly foreclosing on scores of homes.
