Pakistan on Thursday took exception to the Indo-Russia joint statement and termed the references to Pakistan as "unwarranted and unacceptable". A statement from the Foreign Office noted the references to Pakistan in the statement issued in New Delhi that urged Pakistan to expedite punishing of those responsible for the Mumbai attacks.
The joint statement also called for dismantling "safe havens" of terrorists in Pakistan and Afghanistan. "Pakistan's views have been clearly conveyed to the Russian government," the Foreign Office said.
