Quaid-e-Azam Mazar Management Board (QMMB) would be reconstituted by giving representation to such new members who could actively render their services to make the board more effective and true representative. This was decided in the 78th meeting of QMMB, held here on Friday with Federal Minister for Environment, Hameedullah Jan Afridi in the chair.
Matters pertaining to beautification and placement of security guards inside and outer periphery of Mazar-e-Quaid, purchase of generator were discussed in the board meeting, while sub committees were constituted to finalise arrangements regarding purchasing of weapons.
Members QMMB gave proposals regarding consultation with different federal and provincial departments for the deployment of personnel to perform various functions in the premises of Mazar-e-Quaid. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said Quaid-e-Azam's mausoleum is a national monument and it is a moral and national obligation to keep it neat and clean to provide better facilities to visitors who come there from all over the country and abroad.
Earlier, Brigadier Asif Akhter gave a detailed presentation about the new security plan for the mausoleum. The meeting was attended by Federal Secretary Environment, M. Javaid Malik, Joint Secretary Iftikhar Rahim, Deputy Auditor General Malik Khadam Hussain, Special Home Secretary Kamran Dost, Additional Secretary Home, Qamar Ahmed Khan, Brigadier Asif Akhtar, Additional Accountant General Agha Muhammad Ansar, Resident Engineer, QMMB, Muhammad Arif and other officials of QMMB.-PR
