Glowing tributes were paid to the outgoing Inspector General of Police, Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar for his meritorious services rendered to the police department. Addl IGPs Muhammad Wasim, Aftab Sultan, Chaudhry Tanvir Ahmad, Humayun Raza Shafi, Rafiq Hasan Butt, Sarmad Saeed, Malik Khuda Bakash Awan and Azam Joiya attended the ceremony organised in the honour of outgoing IGP by the Staff Officers of Central Police Office here on Thursday.
The speakers while appreciating the leadership qualities of Dogar said that he upheld the morale of police force during the crucial period of war against terrorism. Speaking on the occasion, the outgoing IGP, Dogar said that with the blessing of Almighty Allah, co-operation of the officers/officials of police force, "I tried my best to perform official duties with full sincerity, dedication during my career." He maintained that it was need of the hour that officers of police department should perform their official duties like an "Ibadaat" (worship) and win the hearts of general public, by always keeping their doors open for the common man.
He observed that maintenance of discipline in the ranks of police force and close liaison with the subordinate officers/jawans as well as general masses were essential for successful policing in the perspective of present prevailing law & order situation in the country.
