The Karachi Port handled 97,207 tonnes of cargo including 63,055 tonnes of import cargo, 34,152 tonnes of export cargo, 3,955 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 63,055 tonnes comprised of 25,867 tonnes of containerised cargo; 750 tonnes of general cargo; 16,680 tonnes of bulk cargo: 9,540 tonnes of coal; 7,140 canola seeds and 19,758 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,152 tonnes comprised of 30,196 tonnes of containerised cargo; 200 tonnes of general cargo and 3,756 tonnes of cement. Four ships namely Hanjin Beijiang, Hansa Stavanger, Cathrina and MSC Magali with containers and BAG sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz MSC Magali, Neelam, TS Nogoya, Bux Melody, APL Chicago, Nordana Andras and SC Guangzhou carrying containers bulk cargo, containers, general cargo and tanker are currently at the berth. Seven ships namely Nordana Andras, SC Guangzhou, New Challenge, SD Nova, Bux Melody, Noble Coral and TS Nogoya carrying general cargo, tanker, petrol, canola seeds and containers expected to sail on Saturday, while two ships namely APL Chicago and MT Karachi with cement and tanker are expected to sail on Sunday.
Two vessels viz YM Asia and MOL Seabreeze carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday, while seven vessels viz Gulf Tiger, Hyundai Oakland, Conti Asia, APL Ruby, Selin M, Miami Maiden and Abdullalatif S with furnace oil, containers, DAP, coal and cement are due to arrive on Sunday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 61,461 tonnes of cargo includes 38,537 tonnes of import cargo and 22,924 tonnes of export cargo, 3,114 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 38,537 tonnes includes 2,545 tonnes of LPG; 5,200 tonnes of palm oil; 11,232 tonnes of canola seeds and 19,560 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo 22,924 tonnes includes 1,204 tonnes of rice and 21,720 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely MT SC Zhu Hai, MT ST Martin and CV CSAV Jura sailed out to sea on Saturday morning, while two container ships namely CV Glory and CV MSC Anafi are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of ten vessels viz CV Glory, CV CSAV Jura, CV MSC Anafi, MV Lanka Mahapola, MV Timos Stayros, MV MY Young, MV Yon Phung Ho, MT ST Martin, MV Panaglotis-D and MT SC Zhu Hai are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, sugar, LPG, canola seeds and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Sichem Melbourn, DL Violet, Saudi Abha, Bow Aratu and Troy carrying chemicals, containers, palm oil and rice are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz namely CV Saudi Abha, MT Bow Aratu and MT Sichem Melbourn with containers and chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Saturday. A container ship namely CV Rio Elder due to arrive on Saturday, while two more container ships namely CV Maersk Utha and CV MSC Jenny are due to arrive on Sunday.
