Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Monday warned that it could also decide about the future of its coalition with Pakistan People's Party (PPP) in Sindh if the decision of increase in petroleum products prices was not withdrawn. Talking to media persons outside Parliament House, he said MQM has formally submitted applications in National Assembly and Senate seeking allocation of seats for its members on opposition benches.
He said it was deplorable that the government was taking anti-people decisions adding that the increase in oil, LPG and CNG prices was unjust as the masses were already facing severe problems due to the overall price hike. He asked the government to immediately withdraw the decision; otherwise MQM has the option to decide about the future of coalition in Sindh. Referring to Reformed General Sales Tax, he said MQM had forwarded nine points to the government and asked it not to impose RGST, but the nine-point recipe was thrown into the dustbin. If implemented, the country would be out of the prevailing crisis, he added.
