All labour and officers unions of Pakistan Steel Mills Corporation (PSMC) have unanimously decided to start joint efforts against the privatisation of mills. They have also granted full mandate to the Shamshad Qureshi chairman Pakistan Steel Peoples Workers Union (CBA) to make strategy to stop the privatisation process.
A delegation of Pakistan Steel Employees Action Committee led by Saleem Ahmed met office-bearers of CBA at central secretariat and decided to start protest against the privation of national asset-Pakistan Steel. Addressing the delegation Shamshad Qureshi demanded the government to withdraw the SRO issued for privatisation of mills.
He informed that Asif Ali Zardari President of Pakistan and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani has already de-listed PSMC from privatisation list. Meeting was attended by Nusrat Habib, Alamdar Hussain, Reaz Sharif, Nazir Jan, Abdul Sattar But, Rehman Shah, Zafar Khan, Rana Hanif, Shahid Babur, Chudary Yaseen, Chudary Akbar, Nazim Lark and others.-PR
