PML-N senior leader and Member National Assembly (MNA) Mohammed Pervez Malik has said that Pakistan Muslim League-N wants the continuity of democratic system in the country but it was PPP leadership who is stumbling himself and trembling the public confidence on the democratic system by taking anti-nation steps like hike in utility prices, massive gas and electricity load shedding, aggravating law and order situation and massive borrowing.
"PML-N wants the prosperity of Pakistani nation and would not compromise on the interests of Pakistan at any cost." In a press statement issued here Thursday, Pervez Malik said that present regime has disappointed all segments of the society and failed to show their commitment in resolving the difficulties being faced by the people.
He said that it was the flawed policies and ghastly performance of PPP-led government, which showed them this day when coalition partners were not ready to support them.
He said that the present regime has thrown the country in the swamp of crisis. He said that the business community and masses, one hand, are facing prolonged electricity and gas crisis, worsen law and order situation, soaring inflation and rising corruption, while the other, being tormented by the luxurious expenditures of the government.
He said that the federal government has borrowed Rs 482 billion from banking system for budgetary support during the first half of current fiscal year because of rising current expenditure.
He said that hostile and unfavourable policies of the PPP government had drove the thousands industrial units to a permanent closure left uncountable industrial workers jobless. He said that that massive energy crisis and lack of conducive business environment phenomenally almost halted the production of remaining industry.
Pervez Malik said that despite all these misdoings, PPP-led government was not ready make the things better and blaming others, busy destabilising the democracy.
He said that PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif had taken all the decisions while keeping the national interests superlative. He said that the world has never forgotten the May 28, 1998 when Nawaz Sharif refused the international pressure and took the difficult decision of conducting the six nuclear tests.
He said that PML-N had always strongly opposed the all anti-people moves and in the present scenario, PML-N would not support the PPP-led government if it loses majority.
Pervez Malik counselled the PPP leadership to seriously consider the ultimatum given by the PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif instead of setting hopes of PML-N's support in the National Assembly.
