All Pakistan Transport Owners Federation (APTOF) and All Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association welcomed the decision of the government regarding decrease in petroleum products.
However, Vice-chairman APPDA Chaudhary Muhammad Sadiq said that the petrol pump owners have yet the reserve oil, which was purchased at high prices but they would sale it according to fresh prices which the PM announced.
The transporters also announced to take back the decision of increasing fare across the country after the government's announcement of taking back the decision of POL prices increase.
"We have asked all the transporters, regarding 10 percent decrease in fares which we have increased due to recent hike in POL prices," Chairman Transporters Federation Azam Khan said.
The commuters would be charged old fares from Friday, he added. Talking to Business Recorder on Thursday, the representatives of both the associations said that though they would face loss, yet when there were no good news across the country they welcomed the Prime Minister's announcement for revising POL prices. While in a press statement issued on Thursday Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the government's decision to withdraw the recent raise in the POL prices on strong public pressure was a wise step.
