Decrease in oil prices: business community welcomes Prime Minister's decision
Business Community has welcomed decision of Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousaf Raza Gilani to withdraw the recent increase in the price of petroleum products and restore it as of December 31,2010.
The Oil and Gas Regulator Authority on December 31 announced an increase of 9.2 percent in petroleum product prices, which received serious reaction from business community, general pubic and political parties
Elected Vice President FPCCI, Khalid Tawab appreciated the decision said that any increase in oil prices have multiple impact on prices of other goods. Now the decision will help stabilise prices of other goods as well.
He said that the country facing serious economic crises and added that the decision will help contain ever increasing inflation. Vice President SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Iftikhar Ali Malik while appreciating Prime Minister decision said that he took right decision at right time.
He said that general public facing very hard time due to high inflation. The decision may bring some relief for them. Former President FPCCI, Zubair Tufail appreciating the decision and said that in present circumstances it is wise decision.
He also appreciated all the parliamentary parties in National Assembly who advised Prime Minister to withdraw new oil prices.
